Friday, August 6, Holly George, Photography.
George creates amorphous and disorienting photographs of geographical maps.
Friday, September 3, Michael Hough, Sculpture.
Hough works with found metal objects in an assemblage tradition. The sculptor also creates stacked ceramic structures that are modeled after common objects in popular culture and recall ancient totem poles.
Friday, October 1, Gary Freeburg, Photography.
Freeburg captures the rugged and picturesque Alaskan wildness.
Friday, November 5, Jason Anderson, Mixed Media.
Conflicting tensions in Anderson’s past and present identity are pulled taut in a series of mixed media self-portraits.
Friday, December 3, JMU Advanced Photography.
Associate Professor Corrine Diop guides photography students in a collaborative, site-specific installation with the Arts Council of the Valley. Exhibition continues through the end of January 2011.
Friday, February 4, Cheyenne Crawford, Photography.
Using old family photos, Crawford manipulates images that expose and reinterpret the past within a contemporary context. Exhibition continues through end of March 2011.

By contrasting objects and their conventional meanings, McIntosh confronts stereotypical differences in language and symbolism, while also suggesting potential harmony.

In this collection of paintings, Donnelly captures the bright sunlight and carefree characteristics of the classic American summer vacation.
