The Arts Council of the Valley (ACV) introduces Cirque du Peep, a temporary, mobile art project that will be presented from the back of a rented U-Haul truck for a series of one-day exhibitions.
Cirque du Peep will make several stops at high profile sites in Harrisonburg and Rockingham County. Once parked, the door of the U-Haul will be rolled open for audiences to experience the artist’s work of art, installation, or performance.
Two artists (or two teams of collaborating artists) with winning project proposals will be provided $100 for supplies as necessary for the design, fabrication, and installation of a temporary work of art created for the interior of a ten-foot U-Haul truck.
Creative use of materials, space, and funding is central to this project. Artists may use found objects, recycled materials, light, sound, et cetera.
Artists’ design proposals will be reviewed and selected by a review panel in February 2011.
