Expanding Creativity in the Classroom and Beyond
By providing visual and performing arts programs and supporting artists and art educators through its grants program, Arts Council of the Valley serves the Harrisonburg-Rockingham community in meaningful ways. With so many public education funding priorities, it’s hard to find dollars to bring additional resources to bear for visual and performing arts programs. Arts Council of the Valley’s Advancing the Arts Grants can help bridge some of those gaps, making it possible for teachers to bring extraordinary arts experiences into their classrooms and beyond. Arts for Education grants are specifically designed to help educators bring in additional arts opportunities, often through projects connecting the arts with reading, math, science, social studies as well as the development of interpersonal skills and team-building. The arts open minds and lead the way to constructive problem-solving and innovation.
